The People Behind the Practice
Dr. Carson Fuhrman
Dr. Carson Fuhrman is an organization development consultant, people strategist, and licensed clinical psychologist with 10 years of experience bridging the gap between organizational efficiency and clinical excellence. As a former Department of Veterans Affairs Section Chief and CEO direct report, Dr. Fuhrman has a proven track record leading culture change for a 3,100-employee healthcare system, applying High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles at a systemic level, utilizing organizational health assessment to foster scalable program development, and balancing change implementation with financial outcomes. Clinically, he has worked across public and private, inpatient and outpatient, settings, providing comprehensive psychological assessment and individual and group therapy.
Dr. Fuhrman holds a PsyD (Doctor of Clinical Psychology), MBA (Healthcare Management), MA (Clinical Psychology), and SHRM-CP (Certified Human Resources Professional). He also serves as Adjunct Faculty with the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. His additional areas of focus include translating organizational data into employee retention strategy, applied servant leadership, and the use of Prosci (ADKAR) methodology.
Dr. Heather Keefe
Heather Keefe, Psy.D., M.S. is a licensed clinical psychologist who earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Regent University and her master’s in experimental psychology from Old Dominion University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Sheridan Wyoming Veterans Affairs Healthcare System.
Dr. Keefe has developed a clinical and research focus within the LGBTQ+ population as well as military and Veteran wellness, addressing polytrauma and polysubstance use. She provides affirming care for individuals, group, and couple therapy, and her research explores areas of belongingness, mental wellness, and resiliency. Her clinical practice also includes the treatment of mood disorders, serious mental illness, and personality disorders.
Dr. Keefe serves as the Sheridan VAMS LGBTQ+ Veteran Care Coordinator, supporting LGBTQ+ Veterans receiving care at their facilities. She has a passion for research, training, and the supervision of student clinicians, as well as working with community partners to encourage clinical best practices that promote inclusivity and advocacy while fostering an environment that supports clinical development.
Dr. Shannon L. Fuhrman
Shannon L. Fuhrman, Ph.D., Ed.S., M.Ed., SHRM-CP serves as an educational and organizational development consultant with Luminary Ridge Behavioral Science, helping organizations build stronger teams, healthier cultures, and more effective leadership systems. She holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education from Regent University, is SHRM-CP certified, and is certified in Mental Health First Aid from the National Council on Mental Well-Being — a combination that reflects her people-first, psychologically informed approach to organizational strategy. Her research and consulting focus centers on psychological safety, cultural humility, and organizational climate: the conditions that drive engagement, trust, and performance in any workplace.
Dr. Fuhrman brings over ten years of progressive leadership experience developing teams and leading retention and workforce initiatives at the executive level. She partners with organizations to align people, policy, and mission through data-driven strategy and proactive, evidence-based interventions, and is passionate about helping teams build cultures where people feel safe to contribute, grow, and do their best work.
